We're looking for Canon DSLR Shooters to contribute to a video with an "Artistic take" on the Sydney Marathon this Sunday 18.9.11.

The primary use of the video will be founded on a run through of the course in fast motion, but it will be interactive. The interactive function will give the viewer the opportunity to go to graceful slow motion transition to real time (aerial and other perspectives) of the hotspots of this beautiful city. Luna Park, a closed down Harbour bridge, Mrs Macquarie's Drive (Botanical Gardens), St Mary's, up (and down) Oxford St, serpentine's through Centennial Park, back through the centre of Hyde Park, then the many City perspectives. Over Darling Harbour, then via Hickson Rd through to Circular Quay and finishing at the Opera House. See course map

It's imperative to shoot beautifully. Limited depth of field is the way these cameras really look like 35 mm movie footage. We'll have plenty of time to caress the shots to their best potential and the videos will be seen by many as the intensity builds towards the London 2012 Olympics.

We will make non-interactive short and long forms that are focused on the beauty of the shots, with soundtrack written for the edit of the imagery, with the feel of Art Cinema.

Frank Flick is one of our main DOPs. Frank will shoot with his 1D Mk 4 (for slow motion via Twixtor 7D and 1D are superior to the fabled 5D Mk 2) and L-series lenses on a Polaris airbag tracking vehicle right next to the front runners from beginning to end. We'll be shooting tight detail shots and use slow motion quite a bit to find and capture that flowing state of grace that I see in the Kenyan winner that I've escorted to the finish line the last few years.

We will have footage from a helicopter and slow motion footage from a high speed camera also. But there is nothing like just being out there and seeing things as they unfold and optimizing/seizing the golden moments.

Any DSLR shooters that would like a credit and an opportunity to be part of the bigger picture please fill in the form provided, and if you're uber keen, give Marty a call on 0434 923 959.

It starts at 7:30am this Sunday and the winner will be finished a little over 2 hours after. The forecast is good and it will be like Sydney during the Olympics, atmosphere wise. Basically a lot of fun!

Definitely big credit..... for the love of shooting.
